How to share Claude HTML with clients

Claude Artifacts are useful for creating and iterating on AI-generated pages. When the output needs to move into a separate client, QA, or stakeholder review, HTMLShare can publish the static HTML or ZIP export as a standalone browser preview.

Claude's current sharing behavior depends on whether the artifact is new or legacy. Read Claude's Artifact sharing guide.

Who can open a Claude Artifact link?

Anthropic's current sharing article says everyone needs a Claude account to open a shared artifact, even with the link. The exception is a legacy artifact published from a chat. Legacy artifacts are ones made in a chat before September 16, 2026. On Free, Pro, and Max plans, that published link can be viewed without a Claude account. Features that use Claude still ask the viewer to sign up. Team and Enterprise sharing can stay inside the organization, and an external link still requires a Claude account.

Claude Artifact requires login? explains the new Share rule, the legacy Publish exception, and how to send a standalone HTML preview when the viewer should not create a Claude account. Sources: Share artifacts and What are artifacts.

Choose HTMLShare for

  • Sharing a static Claude-generated page with clients who need a separate browser URL.
  • Clean browser preview links with no surrounding chat UI.
  • ZIP projects with CSS, JavaScript, images, and linked assets.
  • Noindex preview links for review rounds before the page goes public; noindex is not access control.
  • QA testing across devices without sharing Claude chat access.
  • Stakeholder sign-off on a page that looks and behaves like the real thing.

Choose Claude Artifacts for

  • Fast iteration on HTML output directly inside the Claude conversation.
  • Instant re-renders as you refine the prompt or ask for changes.
  • Personal previews while you are still working on the design.
  • Claude-native iteration and sharing while the concept is still changing.
  • Checking responsive behavior within the Artifact preview pane.
  • Staying inside the Claude workflow before the page is ready to share.

Two sharing contexts

Claude Artifacts are powerful for iteration — you prompt, Claude generates, and the Artifact renders immediately. Claude also supports published or workspace sharing with rules that depend on the account and sharing mode. HTMLShare is useful when the review should focus on a static export in a separate browser URL.

How HTMLShare fills the gap

HTMLShare solves a different handoff problem without requiring you to change the Claude iteration loop. When you have a static export ready for external review, upload the HTML or ZIP and send the resulting preview URL. The recipient sees the rendered page without the Claude conversation context. ZIP uploads also keep linked CSS, JavaScript, images, and fonts together when the export is more than one file.

The iterate-then-share workflow

Keep the tools in sequence when that matches the review. Use the Claude Artifact for the fast iteration loop, then export the static output and publish it to HTMLShare when a client or stakeholder needs a separate page link. Bring the notes back to Claude, iterate again, and publish a new HTMLShare snapshot for the next review round.

When the Artifact is enough

Not every Claude-generated page needs a second publishing step. If you are prototyping for yourself or checking a layout idea inside Claude, the Artifact may be enough. HTMLShare adds value when the static output needs a separate review URL, a replaceable snapshot, or a clean page context for a client or QA reviewer.

FAQ

Common questions

What is the difference between a Claude Artifact and an HTMLShare preview link?

A Claude Artifact is an interactive creation in Claude that can be published or shared according to the account and sharing mode. HTMLShare is a separate workflow: export static HTML or a ZIP project and publish it as a standalone noindex browser preview.

How do I share a Claude Artifact with someone who does not have Claude?

A new Share link requires a Claude account, even when access is Anyone with the link. A legacy chat artifact published on Free, Pro, or Max before the September 16, 2026 cutoff can still open without an account. If you have a standalone static HTML or ZIP export, upload it to HTMLShare and share that preview URL.

Can I share a Claude Artifact link directly?

Yes, under Claude's current rules. A new Share link still asks the viewer to sign in. A legacy chat artifact published on Free, Pro, or Max can be opened without a Claude account. Team and Enterprise sharing can stay inside the organization. Use HTMLShare when the review should be a standalone static page.

Does HTMLShare support ZIP projects from Claude?

Yes. When the Claude workflow gives you static HTML with linked CSS, JavaScript, or images, package the complete output as a ZIP and upload it to HTMLShare. Keep relative asset paths intact and test the generated preview.

Is HTMLShare better than Claude Artifacts for client review?

It depends on the review context. Claude Artifacts are useful when the recipient should use Claude's published Artifact experience. HTMLShare is useful when the client should open a standalone static page without the Claude conversation context and when the review needs an exported HTML or ZIP snapshot.

Can I use Claude Artifacts and HTMLShare together?

Yes. Use the Artifact for fast iteration or Claude-native sharing, then export the static output and publish it to HTMLShare when you need a separate review link for the next feedback round.

Share Claude HTML as a standalone preview link

Export the static HTML from your Claude workflow, upload the file or ZIP to HTMLShare, and get a standalone browser URL for clients, QA, or stakeholders.
