index.html project preview

Preview an index.html Project with Its Static Assets

Use this workflow for a static website whose entry page is index.html. Upload the entry file by itself when it is self-contained, or upload a ZIP when the project uses local CSS, JavaScript, images, or fonts so the relative paths stay together.

npx @htmlshare/cli install --agent all

Une seule commande installe la Skill locale pour Codex, Claude et Cursor. Après l'installation, utilisez /htmlshare dans n'importe lequel d'entre eux pour publier le projet HTML actuel.

Publication manuelle

Add index.html

Paste HTML, upload an index.html file, or upload a ZIP that contains index.html and related static assets.

Keep assets together

CSS, JavaScript, images, and fonts can stay in relative folders when you publish a ZIP project.

Share the viewer link

Send a hosted browser preview to reviewers without asking them to download files or run a local server.

Local file to browser preview

When an index.html project needs a hosted preview

Opening index.html locally is fine for a quick check, but it breaks down when you need a client, teammate, or reviewer to see the same page with the same assets. HTMLShare creates a noindex online preview link for that review workflow.

If your index.html references ./style.css, ./app.js, images, or fonts, upload the whole folder as a ZIP. HTMLShare keeps the static project structure together so the online preview behaves like the local page.

Good fits

Preview an AI-generated HTML page from Codex, Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor.

Send a static website draft to a client before production hosting is ready.

Check a zipped frontend prototype with CSS, JS, images, and fonts intact.

Replace screenshots with a real browser link for product and design review.

Can I preview an index.html project without deploying a full website?

Yes. Upload the index.html file to HTMLShare and it creates a hosted browser preview link. For projects with extra assets, upload a ZIP instead.

Will CSS, JavaScript, and images work in the preview?

They can work when you upload the complete static project as a ZIP and keep the same relative paths used by index.html.

Where should index.html be inside the ZIP?

Put index.html at the ZIP root or inside one enclosing build folder, such as dist/. Keep its local CSS, JavaScript, image, and font files at the relative paths referenced by the page.

Is this meant for production hosting?

HTMLShare is designed for noindex preview links, reviews, and prototypes. Use production hosting when the page is ready for public search traffic.
